Transcatheter Minimally Invasive Aortic Valve Replacement

Thank you to all. I was told last week by a heart surgeon that (as was mentioned above) this procedure is only being done on patients too ill to have open heart surgery. He also felt it was much too soon to make a determination as to its safety and longevity. Best, Dianne

Transcatheter Minimally Invasive Aortic Valve Replacement

I've been keeping up with the studies being done at various hospitals on this procedure, but I can't seem to find the answer to one question. Sister's hip joint surgery went fine

Has your sister ever been told she has avascular necrosis, possibly as a result of meds given for lupus? I'm asking because I have AVN, which results in bone death (in the joints) and your email sounds eerily familiar. Best, Dianne

    Valerie Hope Raley Moriarty 02/29/1980-11/16/2009

I'd been meaning to check up on Valerie for some time, as I'd read many of her posts prior to her surgery. It broke my heart to read of her death. May God bless and keep her and give her family the support they need to weather this tragedy.

    A Fib symptoms?

Can calcification cause A-fib/flutter? Can calcification cause A-fib/flutter? Can the narrowing of the aortic valve cause A-fib or flutter? Is the occurrence of a fluttering heart a symptom that it's getting closer to AVR time, or are they unrelated problems? Best, Dianne
