Hi fellow heart patients. I'm a month out from surgery and doing well I think. I'm 62 and I've been walking 3-4 miles a day and doing the upper body exercises my PT showed me.Other than muscle soreness and the tightness in my sternum, I'm good to go. I avoid lifting like the plague and I won't be driving until at least 6 weeks out. Something about a split open sternum just doesn't appeal to me! This is a great forum! Reading all of your posts has been comforting, amazing, and very educational. To all you folks still waiting, This too shall pass. And soon you'll be out walking and having a hard time remembering what the surgery was like.

Well so long as your not trying to stop trains by standing in front of them, you should do well. :D

You're an inspiration to another post-60ish person--thanks for filling us in. I am SO looking forward to a recovery like this!!
