Anyone have trouble with heat post-op?

Eurodam we sail in the Caribbean but Maasdam we sail for the Canada/New England cruise in June. We have two days in Quebec City but only one in Montreal. That is what they call 'turn around day'. We sail from Boston, stop in all the ports along the way and the cruise ends in Montreal. Most guests disembark but we always stay aboard and sail the itinerary in reverse back to Boston. No Airports!!!

My husband and I sailed with the Maasdam from Rotterdam, The Netherlands, across the ocean to our new country Canada in April of 1968. The ship didn't look the way it looks today but nevertheless we had a (what we thought) great 10 day sail to first Quebec city and than on to the wonderful city of Montreal.

Isn't that exciting.... sailing transatlantic to your home. Rotterdam is the home of the company which was founded some 140 or so years ago. She still has offices there and the newest ship, Eurodam was dedicated there in July, 2008.

The Maasdam which today sails in the Holland America fleet entered service in about 1994 so it was an older model you sailed. HAL has used the names of previous ships when they dedicate a new one.

We have sailed Maasdam many times and positively love that ship and her crew.
Maasdam sails every summer on a 35 day cruise. She leaves Boston for 17 days to Rotterdam and then 18 days back to Boston. A hugely popular cruise with stops in Iceland, Greenland etc

Board Quebec City, Gasper, Corner Brook, Newfoundland Charlottetown, Prince Edward, St.John, Canada, Portland, Maine, Boston, Newport, Rhode Island, New York City, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Our suite is 7050, on the Eurodam. It's directly across the hall from the Neptune Lounge. On the Zuiderdam we had 7050, twice, it was a couple suites down the hall from the Neptune.

Hey, that is neat about living in Boston and can go back to back with no flying!

Nice itinerary, Dayton. The only down side is flight choices getting to Quebec City. I don't think the options are terrific from Boston but I haven't checked lately. Nice sailing down the Coast. Enjoy!!!

Check the bible in your Suite.
Lots of folks leave their soda and/or drink cards that have some punches left in the bible!!

We are familiar with 7050 and well familiar with the excellent coffee machine in Neptune Lounge. And the chocolates every afternoon.

Yes, it's a big problem getting to Quebec City. Have to go to Chicago then a small plane. We hate the small planes but the other choice is to Montreal and that's too far from Quebec City.

We flew to Calgary, Canada, last fall... direct flight from Dallas on a full size plane.

The Neptune is very handy for several things.

I was lucky that my surgery was in mid March. As a matter of fact I think I was discharged on the day of the March Equinox (exactly 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark), otherwise known as the first day of spring. I didn't really get to test how well I tolerated the hot, humid days that first summer because I had sternum complications and my activity was limited. I can tell you that from the following summer to present I have tolerated the heat better than before my surgery. For awhile after surgery though my internal thermometer was out of kilter and I often "ran hot" no matter what the ambient temperature around me was, inside or outdoors.
