What's better than a positive attitude?

What's better than a positive attitude?

Sheepdog:

Never doubted that you would have a good surgery and a splendid recovery. You had such a positive attitude. How could you fail?

Never doubted that your life would be better 6 months down the road. Glad to know that my feelings were right.

All of my best wishes for a healthy and prosperous life.

Kind regards,
Blanche

Happy 6th anniversary and it was great to read your post. Keep up with the good health and best wishes to you. It seems like it was yesterday that you were responding to my first post and you were only a few weeks post op.

Hey Dawg,

How about telling us a little more about your "less invasive" AVR?

Where did he cut?
How long is (are) the incision(s)?
Did he cut any muscle?
How was the 'discomfort' afterwards?
(First week, ..... X weeks...?)

Any other information / details?

Any comments on Dr. Wolfe and/or St. Joseph?

Just Curious.

Hi Greg

Congratulations !!!

Great to hear that all is well with work, I recall that your career was a real concern, well we told you that you would do just fine,
Its an inspiration for those in the waiting room to read posts like yours.

cheers

Jan

Sheepdog,

For us "newbies" to the group, it's always encouraging to hear about experiences such as yours. We often think week-to-week, if not day-to-day...thinking six months ahead is now something to shoot for at the moment. Congratulations on what Ross would say should have been a foregone conclusion.

Mike

I think that is great. I am seven years post op at the end of Jan. My dept. has never let the fact that I have replacement parts stop them from giving me any assignments. They know I am on anti coag therapy. Even with this knowledge I do not advertise this fact. The necessary people at are fire dept know as well in case somthing happens.

Good luck!

less invasive, not minimally

less invasive, not minimally

This was a regular old surgery in the regular place except my scar is about 3 1/2" long. This is because I had a great MD and a thick and straight AORTIC ROOT. I had all the usual pain, clicking, muscle cutting and such the every other AVR patient has, only less. He started near the top and stopped about 1/2 way down ending in an INVERTED "T". Pretty cool! I wish I could have had the much "SEXIER" sounding "ROBOTIC" surgery, but I guess they cant do AVR that way, just MVR. All in all though, I am lucky I have what I have. Plus, I can take my pulse without having to find an ARTERY, just a quiet room.TIC TIC TIC.
