Happy Birthday!
Hope the year to come is filled with enjoyable activity and only the best of news, and that everyone you meet is as considerate as you are!

Happy Birthday Kiddo! I will definitely celebrate this one! May have to wait to toast 'til tomorrow. Love, your valve bro, Brian

Happy Birthday!
Looked up your day in my 'Birthdays' Book' and found something funny...
I remember in a post awhile back that you said you liked to write as you
spoke, not to the point ,but discussional, well the title of 'your' day(12/30)
is "the Day of Laconic Authority" and the 1st sentence says.."these
people can get their points across with few words":p It also says that
you dislike waste or inefficiency of all types and you are good at business
and organiztion, and usually end up being the authority figure or boss of
any job or enterprise.
famous people are -Rudyard Kipling, Sandy Koufax, Patti Smith,Tracy Ullman,
and Titus(a Roman Emperor)

Hope you have a fun day with lots of inefficiency:D

Sorry I am so late to this thread, Marguerite, but the day isn't over yet- hope it was sweet and wishing you Many, Many More!

Thanks again everyone!!

I've had a great day (presents, goodies, phone calls, dinner out and went to see "Doubt") and since I've 2 more hours of "my" time, I shoo-ed everyone away, grabbed the Williams-Sonoma box of Peppermint Bark (oh, if you haven't tried theirs...it's so yummy!) and plunked down here to catch up awhile.

Dena, you're so funny with your quote from a birthday book. I wasn't sure what laconic meant so I used Wikipedia and found this... "A "laconic phrase" is a very concise or terse statement, named after Laconia (a.k.a. Lacedaemon [Greek Λακεδαίμων]), a polis of ancient Greece (and region of modern Greece) surrounding the city of Sparta proper. In common usage, Sparta referred both to Lacedaemon and Sparta. Similarly, a laconism is a figure of speech in which someone uses very few words to express an idea, keeping with the Spartan reputation for austerity."

Somehow I don't think I qualify since so many of my posts are very wordy and free-form stream of consciousness. I do think I'm organized (my husband would whole heartedly disagree, but compare my closet and drawers to his!!!). I am efficient! And I do dislike inefficiency. It's really just another form of impatience, I think, though! :p

Well, off to snuggle with the hubby and call it a new year for me in 2 ways (as I always get to do!) I rather like having my birthday at the end of the year. Then I always know what I've done in each year since it basically starts January first! Easy thinking for a blonde!! The best kind.

:D Marguerite
