Anyone interested in seeing my ordeal from start to finish, wife put together a slide show for me. Note the rapid decrease in swelling, and the change in my eyes pre and post pacemaker.

I agree. When I woke up on the vent I really fought it. For me it was the worse part of the surgery. However there are many who do fine on it.

Hey - great pics. It twigged for me that I wanted my wife to do the same series for me to document the journey. It's not every day you get to see all that modern medical technology working at such close quarters so why not take advantage!!

Fear not my friend. We all were worried beforehand. Afterwards is much easier on the mind. Your surgeons and nurses are all quite experienced and will see to it that you are comfortable through every aspect of it. Drugs are most helpful. Before you know it, you'll be telling us about your experience. Looking forward to reading about it.

As someone having surgery next year I found these photos really encouraging. It's amazing how you go from looking so sick to looking so happy and well in just a few days! Thanks for sharing

2005 when I had my MV repaired the respirator and the rest of the tubes would shift and I would get so sick. This time I think since I was expecting it, it wasn't as bad. Thanks for the positive feedback. I felt that although scary if somebody saw it and could see it somewhat first hand it would ease some of the fear.. Thanks again.
