Another YIKES here.....Im freaked out just looking at the breathing tube....and you lying there calmly.....How on earth did you manage that !!!!

I agree. When I woke up on the vent I really fought it. For me it was the worse part of the surgery. However there are many who do fine on it.

Why did I have to go and look at that days before hospital... Feeling a bit wobbly now !

Fear not my friend. We all were worried beforehand. Afterwards is much easier on the mind. Your surgeons and nurses are all quite experienced and will see to it that you are comfortable through every aspect of it. Drugs are most helpful. Before you know it, you'll be telling us about your experience. Looking forward to reading about it.
 
2005 when I had my MV repaired the respirator and the rest of the tubes would shift and I would get so sick. This time I think since I was expecting it, it wasn't as bad. Thanks for the positive feedback. I felt that although scary if somebody saw it and could see it somewhat first hand it would ease some of the fear.. Thanks again.
