Hi, all--

Got a small request here on behalf of a friend of my family and some prayers and/or positive thoughts would be great!

Found out that a close family friend may have come in contact with HIV through her job. She is getting tested tomorrow. Would you please pray that everything is OK?

Thanks!
Debi (debster913)

Good thoughts and prayers on the way.
I worked as an RN several years ago and know well how easy it is
for any mishap to be life threatening.
Anyone who has worked in a hospital for any period of time would
be lying if they say they have never had a scare such as this.
Is your friend taking any of the prophylactic antivirals? The regimen
needs to be started within 72 hours of the exposure.
I will Pray all is well,Dina

I'm a more faithful person since my surgery. It was prayers that got me through, I have no doubt. I'm repaying by offering prayers for others. Your friend is on my list!

Prayer support on the way!! This is extremely distressing for the whole family. I'm praying for all of them. There's such a stigma with the disease, kind of like cancer back when you couldn't say the C word. I'm praying for the best.

You've got my support for your friend, Deb.
We're going through this right now with my sister-in-law. She's been head of occupational therapy services for a nationally recognized children's hospital for 30+ years, and recently came into contact with a patient from a third world nation who had undiagnosed tuberculosis. My sister in law has a compromised immune system due to a drug regime for rheumatoid arthritis and has been unable to fight the TB. She's given a 50/50 chance of living, but that's better than the 90/10 given last week. Medical workers sometimes become the patients when trying to do their job helping others.:(

My thoughts and prayers are with your friend. I hope she gets good news. Please let us know. Dawn-Marie
