Just got back from a terrific Rosh Hashanah dinner...great friends and fantastic foods. One of my favorite times of year.

Hi everyone!
I want to extend my wishes to all who celebrate Rosh HaShanah for a sweet, healthy and good New Year! Shanah Tova!
I am almost two years post surgery.. and I still cried during services in thanks for having been given this additional time in good health. I take nothing for granted anymore.

Jim, thanks for starting this thread!
Love to all,
Allan

Felicitations and best wishes for a good year to all those of a Jewish upbringing. :)

A triple whammy of religious festivals is on now!! Rosh Hashanah, Navaratri and Eid.

Yesterday Hindus started celebrating nine days of Navaratri, their festival of autumn, celebrating good over evil. One for the ladies, as worship of female fertility gods is central to Navaratri. As the trees and plants die back, we offer thanks for their food and also pray for new growth, seems to be the idea.

Today in N. America and tomorrow in Europe Muslims end their month long daylight fasting as Ramadan finishes. Ramadans end ushers in Eid-Ul-Fitr. Three days of Eid is the big one for Muslims, approximating to a Christians Christmas. I was eating in a Muslim restaurant last night, the owner, staff and friends were giddy in anticipation. :)

So further best wishes to all religious persuasions who are partying at this time. :D
