The Gadgetmans Meet the Superbobs

Well, this evening, Gadgetman (aka Bubba) and his bride Peggy stopped on their whirlwind travels to dine with Superbob and his bride Allyne (years of married life combined for the two couples -- 82!) at a delightful restaurant next to Hollins University in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

This was a real pleasure for Mr. and Mrs. Superbob. I will let Bubba testify as to whether the beauty of the waitresses (all of whom call Superbob "sweetheart") and the coeds lived up to advance billing. The seafood dishes for three of us were superb, while Bubba of course stuck to the steak and potatoes. For dessert, we had the BTS carrot cake -- Superbob wolfed all of his down, while Bubba had to do takeout for half of his.

Afterwards, a groundhog lurked under Bubba's vehicle as if looking to hitch a ride down to the swamps of Georgia. Thoughts of Bill Murray's movie, Groundhog Day, jumped to mind -- it would certainly be a pleasure to have this day repeated over and over to enjoy the Gadgetman company.

As for pix, if any, they are again sealed in Bubba's mayo jar in the back of his SUV. Superbob knoweth not if they will ever see the light of day. Might be fodder for blackmail purposes.

Cool beans, as the saying goes somewhere in the south I think. Glad you got to meet each other for a good meal and a good time!

I'm apt to turn around and find that he's crossed the Mason Dixon Line and is somewhere nearby!
I'm glad you had a good time, but I am a little concerned that maybe Cooker, Gadget, and SuperBob have plans afoot! :

Sorry it took me so long but Bubba insisted on rounding up three witnesses before he would break the seal on the Mason Jar that the pictures were stored in. Then he wanted to run them thru the ?America?s Most Wanted? database before he would approve their posting.

I will confirm SuperBob?s assessment that they really know how to raise some cute gals in the great state of Virginia. Finally, here is the Ross mandated picture of the most recent meeting. Peggy was unable to round up anyone to take a picture of all four of us.

I will now address SuperBob?s PET Groundhog. I swear it didn?t show up in that parking lot until AFTER SuperBob happened to open the trunk of his car. Makes you wonder don?t it.

Well, being the animal lover that I am (man, that steak was very good) I was not about to cause any harm to the Groundhog. However, I thought them guys were only supposed to show up in February. A groundhog in August????? I know for a fact that he didn?t see his shadow so does that mean an early WINTER or what?

Peggy established a game plan. I was to enter our vehicle, kick it out of gear (without starting the engine----don?t want to upset no Groundhog) and quietly roll out from over the Groundhog. I sure didn?t want to leave road kill (wait a minute, wouldn?t that be Parking LOT Kill) all over the parking lot. I swear I saw several folks writing down my Georgia Tag Number just in case. Here is a picture of the now uncovered Groundhog.

Of course, Groundhogs like to bury themselves don?t they. I think he suddenly realized that he just might see his shadow after all so of course he RELOCATED under my vehicle again. Unfortunately my vehicle was now in the middle of the parking lot. Peggy and SuperBob were able to coax the critter from under our vehicle and last we saw he was now somebody else's problem. I swear your Honor, he was alive when I left the parking lot.

Oh yeah, I don?t believe he hitched a ride from Cooker?s. If he had been riding on my front grill with all them 18 wheelers on that interstate he would have had a permanent look of FEAR!!! This boy wasn?t worried about nothing.

No, y'alls eyes ain't going bad. The picture is a LITTLE outta focus. He was under another car by now.

This is pretty cool that you Gadget have been able to meet these other members..........but I'm wondering if Bubba has had some influence on SuperBob and Cooker.

The pictures that have been posted show both SB and Cooker wearing Hawaii type shirts.

Let's just say this, Ross better have that door locked real good when that March Reunion date rolls around. I'm a rounding up the BOYS!!!!!!

I'm getting one of them Propane Trucks converted to carry Oxygen so we won't run out. Haven't overcome the problem of it blowing out the lines. Gotta come up with a better pressure regulator..........
