I've kind of been laying low the last week or so. I just check in to see if anyone has any questions I can help with on the Anticoagulation forum. I won't go into why. Let's just say it has to do with hospitality. We have many people who visit here and some of them are brave enough to join. We have lots of information to share here. Today we had a young adult come on with warfarin questions. He didn't know what a "valver" was, but he had sincere questions related to his life on Coumadin. I'm sure he found this site just as I did: through a Google search on Coumadin. I wasn't Googling issues with my valve, it just happened to be a happy coincidence that it was a valve site I found. Most of what I know about Coumadin I learned because of VR. If we can be of help to those who take Coumadin for any other reason besides valve issues - I think we should do it. This young man may have had some helpful insight for other young adults who are considering a choice that requires Coumadin. Or are faced, through no choice of their own, with living their life on warfarin.
Some may not know is that we have a very active member who may have been turned away from this site if we set a strict guideline that the member must have a valve problem or a loved one with a valve problem. If you read the registration rules and information you'll notice that there really aren't any specific valve requirements to register as a member. Or any requirements that they prove to anyone but the administrators and moderators that they are who they say they are.
Warm regards to all.
