We got the call late Friday that they postponed the surgery until Tues the 29th. I guess there was actually someone in the hospital that was going to sit all weekend so instead of making them sit untill Tues they bumped us. I cant believe what a difference a day can make when you are psycologically pumped. This weekend we hung out with friends and family swam etc. It was just like a normal weekend and we didn't talk about it at all until last night. Then it was like happy to sad in zero point two. It is going to be a long, long, long day. I am at work to compensate for some time this week and my hubby is home with the kids. I am hoping that they will keep him busy enough for a few hours so that he doesn't think. Thanks for all you good thoughts, I hope and pray that tommorrw goes smooth and now I have another day to think about it :(

Sorry to hear about that, I have mine scheduled for Wednesday and I know it would freak me out to delay it. I am at the point now where I just want to get past it, have it done. It seems like delaying it would feel like putting the rest of your life on hold. Best of luck to you and a speedy recovery.

I'm sorry you have an extra day to fret.
Maybe you will be the receipients of good karma since your husband's delay will help the person who took your husband's slot.
We can only hope!:)

So sorry for the delay, but I changed it on the calendar and our prayers and best wishes will stay with you through the delay. He will be fine and we look forward to your update as soon as you are able.

The delay will come and go, as do all things, but stay pumped up, that sounds really good! I go on Friday, so 4 more days to get "PUMPED" for me..

Keep smiling,

CJ

I just got a call from my surgeons office, they wanted to postpone till next week, I was scheduled for 7/30 and they wanted to reschedule to 8/6. I told them I was already set up for time off work so they said ok. I hope I still have my surgery on wed, like I said earlier the waiting is the worse part now. I just need to get past this.

At least you can be ...

At least you can be ...

postponed. That means there is someone that is more emergent than Ryan. When I went in for my pre-op on Tuesday, my Surgeon said there was am 80something year old man that NEEDED to be done first. I can remember waiting pre-op Wednesday AM and HOPING I wasn't taken earlier than expected. That would mean things went BAD with his first surgery and I didn't want to catch him on a BAD day. I was actually started a bit late and all worked out. I know the waiting SUX. I was waiting for 3 months. You will all do fine!:D

Having been on both sides of the delay, I so feel for you.

My first OHS, I was the patient in CICU who needed urgent surgery and bumped someone who was scheduled. At the time, I thought to myself, gee.....that must be so hard on them to have been delayed but, of course, I was grateful I was being taken care of.

The second time, I was the person praying I wouldn't be delayed. I certainly knew it could happen. ;)

I also think there is a reason for all things. There has to be good karma that the surgical spot went to someone who was more urgent and it's good to know they were taken care of. Now, we fervently hope all goes well on the 29th. Godspeed. We'll be thinking of you all.
