Doctor called at 7:00 am and says the ICU beds are full now so don't come to the hospital yet...In was supposed to have this surgery on June 6th and it was postponed to today...as the surgeon told me sometimes the waiting is the hardest part..So I am scrubbed up and sitting here waiting t9o get the call from him in an hour to tell me to come in ..or whatever.....I just want a successful surgery and am happy to wait till the time is right !! Mercury is in retrograde and it is Frday the 13th...not that I am superstitious or an astrology freak... ON X Valve here I come..sometime....:)

That wait is sooo hard. I know it wasn't the phone call you wanted to hear. Soon, Lord willing, it will be over and you will be looking back at this time. You will be in my prayers today and I'll be watching for your first post-op report. God Bless you.

So sorry you have this nerve-racking delay. Best wishes for a phone call soon. Actually, you are probably more comfortable waiting at home then in the hospital. I waited in the hospital two weeks ago for about 4 hours for a surgical suite to become available for a lumpectomy and it was very nerve-racking.

Wow, indeed a bummer to have a last-minute delay like that! Hope by now, you have been called in and are well on the way to a successful surgery. Sending best wishes and prayers....

Did you get a confirmation call yet? Hopefully you're at the pre-op ward and are in a silly gown waiting for them to push you in. If that's not the case, relax. A full ICU today means you're simply not as ill as the folks who've supplanted you out of bed.

Take Heart, you'll have your surgery,
Pamela.

I was one of those who was in the ICU bed and they were able to move me faster than expected so someone else could go ahead and have their surgery. As I was a re-op, they expected me to be in ICU about 2-3 days. I was out of there in about 12 hours. Hopefully, you aren't reading this as you have gone to the hospital. They'll get you a bed and you'll be fine.

We'll wait to hear you are over the mountain and doing great.
