With great sadness I will share and also ask for prayers for my husband Jim. Jim has been diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus, lungs and liver. It is inoperable and we are still in shock. He has not been feeling well for about 2 months and now is so frail and weak. He has a blood clot from his ankle to is groin and is now on coumadin. I do have to question the reason for so very many health issues between the two of us. We have wonderful daughters and family members that will support us for the rest of our lives. Thank you for any prayers you can offer for him.

Just this evening there was a story on the CBS news about a hopeful new treatment for Barrett's Esophagus. Esophageal cancer is, as it has been for the past several years, the fastest rising incidence of cancer in the U.S.; and an estimated 50% of cases develop from acid reflux. Kathleen, I'm so sorry to read your post and hoping for the best for you and your husband and your family.

I can't imagine how devastating this must be. I'm so sorry that you and your husband and family have to go through this. My thoughts are with you both.
