Hi everyone! First of all sorry I never posted to let you know how the wedding went and all that, but I`ve had a few health issues since then and I was trying to get them sorted out first. Anyway, it was a beautiful day and guess what!? My mum came over from Brazil and spent 20 days here. My daughter wasn`t able to come though for a number of reasons. I`ll ask Ross to get a few photos put in here for you to see soon. However, about 10 days or so later I had what felt like an asma attack and I`ve never had it in my life. I hadn`t been feeling too good since a couple of weeks after the mini-stroke in February, but with the wedding coming up and all that, I just kept going. I got this annoying unproductive cough that just wouldn`t go away. I had cough mixture, honey and nothing, and it was quite a dry cough which became very pessistant as time went by. To cut a long story short, I had to stay in hospital for a few days as they found a shadow on my left lung and wanted to find out what it was. They did a ct scan to confirm it and then a bronchoscopy but the results weren`t conclusive although it showed a black spot. When I went back to see the doctor he said that it can be a number of things but that although it looks a bit like pneumonia, the area`s a bit lumpy. What he wrote in the letter to my GP was "suspicious looking mass, 6cm. Yesterday I went in for a ct guided scan with biopsy in which they inserted a needle into my lung to get the tissue and they hope that will provice them with the final answer. As for my heart, the cardio has said they want to operate on it in a matter of weeks now as they valve`s very narrow and I`ve been put on water tablets, Furosemide 40mg twice a day because there`s some fluid building up. My breathing and the cough have improved since then. I`ve also been on warfarin since February and I`ve taken quite well to it. They`ve had to put me off it for a couple of days before my procedures though. So, I`d appreciate if you could say a wee prayer for me and keep your fingers crossed so that this thing on my lung is just something they can easlily deal with and I should be ok to go with the heart surgery when the time comes. Wow!! What a way to start a new married life!!
Hugs,
Debora

Oh Gosh!...

Love and prayers Deborah...

I will write more later...I'm in the middle of cooking/burning dinner ....

Congratulations on the wedding and wishing you a long and happy future together.

If it helps at all, shortly before my OHS I had a productive cough and the sputum was blood streaked (not a huge amount), I had a chest x-ray which showed that there was 'possible cavitation', apparently this could indicate TB. I was taken into hospital and given tests but also large doses of diurectic, then had a CT scan which showed my lungs were fine. It was just the fluid build up from the heart failure.

Good luck.

Hi, nice to meet you and congrats on your wedding. You look beautiful :D Very sorry to hear you have this scary thing hanging over your head. You sound very brave about it but it must be very frightening.

My best wishes to you and your new husband, and my sincere hopes that whatever is going on with you turns out to be a minor problem.

All the best
Lynn

Your avatar looks lovely. I look forward to seeing some pictures.

You are also in my prayers for good results from the biopsy.

Dear Debbi,
So glad to see your post this morning; I had been thinking of you here lately & wondering.....

You & your husband make a lovely couple! :) I hope everything turns up well with your CT scan. And, if it's time to have your heart surgery, well then get it done. Two years ago I was on 40mg of furosemide. I am now taking 160mg @ day & some days, like yesterday, I had to double that because I couldn't get rid of about 8lbs of fluid & it's getting worse. So I have to face & deal with that issue as well soon!

Take care & best wishes to you! :)

Hi Deb ~ Congratulations to you both on your marriage...may you have a long and wonderful life together!

I'm sorry to hear of all your problems. Best wishes and lots of prayers that your lung problem will not be serious and that everything will go well with your surgery. ~HUGS~ Dawn-Marie
