The doc said that every looks wonderful. :)
It's surprising as it's so early, but I was also taken off of the toprol and warfarin as of yesterday! The aches and pains that I feel were normal, + most of my restrictions were lifted. The only thing that's nagging me is the X-ray...
Lungs were fine but, in the x-ray, my sternum looks like someone drunkenly mended an old chicken-wire fence with a pair of pliars and old wire. There are several loops of wire that were twisted around to secure and left that way meaning that you can see the pointy ends sticking up every which way. In my mind I'm thinking HOW can they not be sticking and poking me from the inside? The twisted ends are literally pointing in several directions and they don't exactly seem small. I asked the doc about it and the reply was that they will stay in for life and only extremely rarely do they cause any probs at all. I find it hard to believe that something so nasty-looking can be so benign..Does anyone else have the same concern as me or should I just suck it up, stop worrying, and be thankful for my good news yesterday??

Ha ha. I like the way you describe your wiring :D

I am going for my 6 weeks check up on Monday and I am sure Cardio will order xrays, or I'll ask for it. I can actually feel one of my wires at the top of my incision - glad I can not SEE it, but it is a bit tender there. Will let you know...

I am glad that you are recovering well. One more thing to be glad about.

Blessings and hugs ;)

I remember seeing the wire in Dick's xray too, but don't remember any ends sticking out. There have been a few here who have had problems with the wires, but very few.
