I am having my first echo since leaving the hospital. . . 6 mo check up. Are there any questions or things that I should pay attention to since it is my first. Maybe you guys might know from your experiences what you wished you would have asked. . . Thanks Seth

Feel'n great

Feel'n great

I am feeling great. I am starting to step out and do more things. I am a little skittish. I think when I hear the words You are fine, see ya next year. .. I will feel better. I noticed that you had surgery relatively close to your other one. Yikes. How are you doin'? I am amazed at what we can go through. :D

for sure

for sure

I will have my ascending aorta watched. At the time of my surgery I had them check it out... My aorta had to be enlarged to hold the valve. . . he said it was smaller than it should be.. . go figure. I talked to the cardio and they said I would not be having an echo this time.. . the doc only wanted to follow up. That means it will be at the year mark I guess. I would have been more comfy if he would have done the echo. I will ask tomorrow at my visit.

Seth, I had an echo at 3 mths post op and again when I was 20 mths post op. Those are very reassuring tests, and the cardio will also have a good listen to confirm if your valve sounds tight.
