For those who have had uneventful valve replacement recoveries, how often did you see your cardio during your recovery and for the first year or two after?

Obviously those people who had 'bumps in the road' required more visits but for those that had no problems and enjoyed an easy recovery, do you remember how often you saw your cardio?

Thanks.

Weekly through week 6, then once week 9. Next visit in four months.

Once at about a month. Once at three months. Once at six months and then every six months after that. I think I'm about to go to the yearly schedule.

Once after a month. Once for an echo after three months. Now, I'm anticipating annual visits for echo plus a listen.

Once a week for 5 or six weeks then 3 months then six......I am convinced that once a year now is fine but my cardio insist on every six months....he says he sees all of his valve patients twice a year....I told him he would cut me back to once a year if that was all my insurance paid?..he called me a smart ass:D but did not deny it either....I guess I should add that he is a client and a friend:rolleyes:

Thanks. I saw mine two weeks after I came home. Have an appointment for two months after that for echo and visit with him. Was wondering about what to expect subsequent to those appointments.

I had complications so saw him more frequently at first, but my original schedule was supposed to be at 4 weeks, then at 6 months then at 1 year, and then annually (possibily bi-annual after the 2nd year).

I think it was at 2 weeks, with an echo, then one year for echo - mechanical valve, annual echo and consult after that. Saw the surgeon at either 4 or 6 weeks, then it will be a year.
I had a totally uneventful recovery, and was working from home the day after discharge (a week to the day after OHS), and in the store 3 weeks after OHS

Am I wierd, but I seem to date all things from the day I came home lol
