Hope all goes well for you Steve. Take care and post again when you can.

Good luck Steve. Like a friend of mine told me at this hour: It's time to put your game face on. I know you are going to do just great.

With finger crossed,

Mark

10 hours and counting to "cutting time!"

Man, was it a ROUGH weekend. I was angry, in denial, in tears, feeling OK and then the cycle would start all over again. I made up for it today... took off work early, got the kids and wife and went to everyone's favorite food trough (OK, favorite if you've got kids under the age of 10 with you)... McDonalds.

As luck would have it, we had some of the WORST service I've ever had at any fast food restaurant. But the bottom line; the kids had a great time playing in the hamster cage, Debbra and I got out of the house and for the first time in a very long time, we all laughed together, even grumpy old Dad (me). I've read it over and over again and it is SO TRUE... waiting is very hard to do (but we have little choice, don't we?). And after tomorrow, I will be qualified to join the ranks who can say "the hardest part is the waiting."

So 10 hours... or make that 9 hours and 55 minutes to go. But who is counting? I am packed and scrubbed and now it's time to go to sleep and have some more FREAKY DREAMS. Last night I dreamed my family and I were boarding a rocket ship, it was an Apollo Command Module sitting on top of a Saturn V (yeah, I'm a full-blooded geeky baby boomer). Unfortunately I woke up before blast-off. At least it wasn't another one of those disturbing surgery dreams.

Again... THANK YOU for all the support and help everyone has offered me. One final note - I have mentioned a couple of times that both my 75 year old mom and my 45 year old sister had AVR surgery in 2007. My sister also had an aneurysm. She and I talked on the phone this evening. She is not a member of vr.com but if she was, she'd be telling everyone "don't worry, it's a piece of cake." She's a tiny and pretty woman who is also one tough mama. And my mom, I called her today and she laughed when I told her about my problems this weekend. So much for getting sympathy from my mom!

Plumber1... you're right. Time to lock and load. Yeah, I know I'm going to be a nervous goof ball tomorrow morning at the hospital but then they'll knock me out and I'll stop yapping.

See you guys on the web... soon.

We'll all be there with you today in thoughts and prayers. Godspeed!

Gene & SSS,

Lots of prayers for your surgery and a smooth recovery. I look forward to hearing from you guys soon.:)
