NCIS
Lost (...it's turned into a strange show, but I've got to know how it ends)
American Chopper (...I like the bikes!)

I like House and Two and a Half Men.
But honestly I would much rather (and do all the time) turn on my country music and rattle the walls. I'll never get too old for that.

Hmmm...anyone else like to find people with whom to discuss their favorite shows?

And...any particular reasons why the shows you listed are your favorites?

Oh ... Rob and Rich ... hope you were able to catch my radio shows ... or at least saw the playlists I posted ;).

"You know J.R. is making deals" ... Hank Williams Jr ... 'This Ain't Dallas'

mmm, i think i like shows with at least a thread of comedy in them, even if its dark comedy...

Life on Mars (BBC Drama about ... well you will just have to check it out)
The Office (the BBC version not the horrible US remake (sorry  ))
Little Britton (Another BBC show, Very disturbing sketch show, funny though)
Heros (one of the few new shows they haven't buggered up yet (re: Lost))
The shield (but not seen past season two as it went cable after that)

Older shows....
The vicar of dibley (BBC again....very quirky and light hearted fun)
Only Fools & Horses (BBC again)
Two and a half men (cheesy but still funny)
According to Jim (painful at times but moments of gold)
That 70's Show (see above)

Still like the odd repeat of friends, cheers, simpsons & futurama.

I also like House, NCIS but they are becomming increasingly formula based so that you can almost guess the outcome 100% of the time.

I guess i can tolerate 'the first of' anything so i still watch "Big Brother" but i can't stand any of the thousands of copy cat tv reality gameshows that followed which includes all the survivor's etc.

I guess its the same the world over but i'd love to see a good show that didn't involve doctors, lawyers, police, fire department or some division of the army....

Wow!!!! I'm glad you mentioned this as I didn't realize the season premiere is tomorrow. I knew there was a rerun tonight, but didn't know about tomorrow as that isn't their previous time slot. I guess I'll have to record American Chopper :D .

Agreed about Vicar. As for Jim ... why painful at times? (Just curious...)

OK ... of the shows I listed before, I usually only talk about "Friday Night Lights" with others during the week ... and it is usually just about what happened the Friday night prior ... and what might happen.

A few shows that I also watch that I didn't list originally are ABC's "Desperate Housewives", ABC's "Brothers and Sisters", ABC's "Boston Legal" and CBS's "Cold Case"....

As for why I watch....

ABC's "Pushing Daisies":
It's just quirky and works. I originally wanted to watch it because it was good to see Swoozie Kurtz back on TV, along with Chi McBride (principle on FOX's "Boston Public"). But, I watched the first 2 episodes and was hooked....

ABC's "Samantha Who?":
Jean Smart. She's been on CBS' "Designing Women" and, more recently, FOX's "24".

ABC's "Desperate Housewives":
Cool to see Felicity Huffman (ABC's "SportsNight") and Teri Hatcher (ABC's "Lois and Clark") in different roles. As for the storylines...well, might be a "guilty pleasure"...?

ABC's "Brothers and Sisters":
Interesting to see Calista Flockhart (FOX's "Ally McBeal") back on TV ... and with an interesting mix of cast members, including Sally Field (remember "Smokey and the Bandit"?) and Rob Lowe.

ABC's "Boston Legal":
I usually only watch the ending of this one with the 2 lawyers (portrayed by James Spader and William Shatner) talking in the evening. But, it's interesting to also see Candice Bergen (CBS's "Murphy Brown"), John Larroquette (NBC's "Night Court"), and others (i.e. guests Betty White, NBC's "Golden Girls", and Michael J Fox, NBC's "Family Ties" and ABC's "Spin City") in this one.

CBS's "NUMB3RS":
Simply an awesome cast around an awesome show format/plotline, especially solving crimes with math! Judd Hirsch and Peter MacNicol (formerly with FOX's "Ally McBeal" and, more recently, FOX's "24" ... during which time he was on a space shuttle mission on CBS's "NUMB3RS") are in this, too.

CBS's "Cold Case":
I just like seeing the flashbacks...and how the crimes are eventually solved....

FOX's "Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?":
Shocking to find out what I remember...and, moreso, what I don't.

FOX's "Don't Forget The Lyrics!":
The music ... plain and simple.

NBC's "Friday Night Lights":
Awesome cast. Love the theme music, too ... and, of course, the older cars!

Hmmm...BTW...anyone else watch ABC's "Eli Stone" tonight after "LOST"? Looks to be an interesting show, imho. I thought I recognized a couple of the ladies in it ... Natasha Henstridge (ABC's "Commander In Chief") and Loretta Devine (FOX's "Boston Public")....

Love the main characters and the husband/wife banter is just too close to the bone that i have to make sure the wife isn't watching when i laugh....its only painful when some of the side characters get too much viewing time...on the whole i like it.

Another one i love is "til death" with the tall guy out of "everyone loves raymond" (actually another show i also like (love the old mum & dad).

One of my coffee spurting moments was on Til Death when he was talking to his mate about how women always win arguments...i'll try and quote..."Women remember everything, its not fair, if i closed my eyes i wouldn't be able to tell you what i'm wearing"...absolute pure gold that one...

Starting to look at my choices and can see that quirky comedy must be my thing...

Desperate Housewives

We don't actually have it on all that much except the news at bedtime, or unless there is something happening current event wise.

So. Mostly news. Local or CNN.
Discovery Channel HD specials (travel, animals, planet stuff)
National Geographic (oh I love that Dog Whisperer!)
HD MTV music concerts and documentaries (er, probably "rockumentaries" ;) )

Tevo's are fun. I'm following (was following....phone call in to networks .... )
Dirty, Sexy Money
Brothers & Sisters
Samantha Who is very cute
Masterpiece Theater (oh....Jane Austen!!)
West Wing -- the writing doesn't get much better

Have been looking in on OLTL and GH since college (1970's) but if there ain't no Luke and Laura....I'm not much into it!!

Not a game show or reality person. Not a mystery or cop show person. More the romantic sap, looks like!!

OK ... got it now :).

And, Marguerite ... I watched a couple episodes of Dirty,Sexy,Money ... but just couldn't get into it. Not sure what it was either, because I absolutely enjoy a couple of the actors on that show ... most notably Peter Krause (formerly of ABC's "SportsNight") and Donald Sutherland (last on ABC's "Commander In Chief").

According to TV guide, the status of some of the popular shows, now that the TV strike is done...

FOX's "24"
Season 7 postponed until January 2009.

ABC's "Boston Legal"
One pre-strike episode remains. Expected to shoot 8 additional episodes to air in April/May.

ABC's "Brothers & Sisters"
One pre-strike episode remains. Expected to shoot 4 additional episodes to air in April/May.

CBS's "Cold Case"
Expected to shoot 5 new episodes to begin airing on March 30.

ABC's "Desperate Housewives"
Expected to shoot 7 new episodes to air in April/May.

NBC's "Friday Night Lights"
No new episodes expected for this season. Future TBD.

MY NOTE: From all reports I've heard, this show is dead...VERY disappointing news, considering how well this show is put together from top to bottom.... I also heard somewhere that, when asked the status of "Friday Night Lights", the "best show on TV" (words of the person asking the question), an NBC exec quipped something like, "Keep Watching 30Rock ... THAT's the best show on TV".... If this was the exec's actual response, shouldn't the response been a bit more impartial...?

FOX's "House"
Expected to shoot 4 new episodes to air in April/May.

CBS's "Jericho"
Seven episodes remain. No additional episodes expected for this season.

ABC's "Lost"
Five pre-strike episodes remain. Expected to shoot 5 additional episodes to air in April/May.

ABC's "Men in Trees"
Eleven pre-strike episodes remain, the first of which airs Feb. 27. No additional episodes expected this season.

CBS's "NUMB3RS"
Expected to shoot 6 new episodes to begin airing on April 4.

ABC's "Pushing Daisies"
No new episodes until fall.

ABC's "Samantha Who?"
Three pre-strike episodes remain. Expected to shoot an additional 3 episodes to air this spring, likely after Dancing with the Stars.

CW's "Supernatural"
Final pre-strike episode airs Feb. 21. Expected to shoot 4 additional episodes to begin airing on April 24.

*sighs*

And, I still haven't decided about the new Knight Rider.... If I don't see it Sunday, the forecast is for that network to re-run it next Saturday, February 23....

Cool...

Just gotta wait for one of the Australian Networks to put their hands in their pockets and buy it...

Monk
Boston Legal
Psych
House
Supernatural and Moonlight are my current faves!

Fox News

Food Network - Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, etc.

True crime stuff, such as Forensic Files, Power, Privilege & Justice, etc. if it doesn't get too gory. Jerry can't stand my crime shows; I can't stand his sports. That's why 2 living areas with 2 TVs and a closed door work!

We've just discovered Dave Ramsey at 7:00 pm CST on Fox Business Channel. Every newly-wed couple should watch this. It's about living debt-free.

Yep, it was cool. Still not sure I'll watch the regular, new TV series ... but tonight's movie was good.

Still not sure about the new KITT being a Mustang, though ... lol.
