It's just about an annual event for me (starting in August 2003) ... a "major" road trip to see the sights, have fun and meet people...

For 2007, since it is late in the year, I head to sunny Florida! I missed several Monte Carlo-, heart-, and family-related events this year (no vacation until October); so, NOW ... it's time to cut loose, relax ... and DRIVE!

My itinerary [2nd part (from Birmingham AL to home) is tentative, depending on who is available ... and where ... to meet] is below, including traveling through/stops in Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri and Illinois ... AND an ALL-INVITED BBQ in TALLAHASSEE FL on TUESDAY night, NOVEMBER 27. June 27-30 ... Pennsylvania ... NMCOA MC Nationals

August 8-12 ... Indiana / Ohio / Pennsylvania / New Jersey / Maryland / Arlington VA ... family reunion in PA (Aug 11) and "side trip"

September TBD ... Sandwich IL for the annual CHD Quilt Project/Golf Outing

Exit 108, on I-75 South, has several restaurants (and of course hotels).

The restaurants there include:

Carraba's
Johnny Carino's
Bonefish (good, but pricey)
T.G.I. Friday's
Logan's Roadhouse (steak house)
Outback
Malone's (nicer steak house)


I know there are others there. Not remembering all of them, some of the them wouldn't be on our suggestion list.

Is there a type of place you would prefer Cort?

Yeah, I suppose I should've noted that, shouldn't have I? Oops.

On trips, I usually prefer a place with "light" options, instead of heavy (i.e. steak, etc.) ... and a place with LOTS of choices. On the list you noted, TGI Fridays sounds the best. As I go through the boards/groups tonight, I'll see if any of the other KY folks mentioned places ... and we'll go from there.

where/what time are you meeting in Atlanta? I will be at daughter's in sharpsburg until Monday or Tuesday. If I am still there, I might be able to make it, depending on time and address. I am either coming home Monday or Tuesday and will meet with Cort on Wednesday on his way through the panhandle.

Not sure yet. PM me with the location of the friend in Atlanta we would gather at. Might depend on where he lives as it can take up to an HOUR (feels like DAYS) to get from the South to the North of HotLanta!!!!

When I made those suggestions I was thinking of a place close to I-75 just in case that was convenient for you.

I will be busy that day and that is a shopping area for sure. My experience with Lexington is that anywhere you go is going to have congested traffic.

To be honest, we didn't personally have in mind a particular restaurant. We're flexible. We'll be eating something light anyway. I don't really like steak much, so that wasn't an issue. We look forward to seeing you and Gina (hopefully) again.

Do you know where you are staying in/near Lexington Friday night? I will probably stay over so I don't have to drive back late so maybe we can also meet up for a quick breakfast on Saturday.

I will be staying about a half hour SW of Lexington, off SR 27, but I do not know exactly where yet. Breakfast _might_ be a possibility as well, yes ;).
