People up here in Canada have probably heard that one of our ex Prime Ministers, Jean Chrétien, just had quadruple by-pass surgery performed. It was done my Dr. Michel Pellerin, head of surgery and MY surgeon!!

Yes, I just heard this on the news.
Chretien is 73 and had been having chest pains after too much stress and activity, golfing, etc.
I wonder if eating poutine was a factor.:D

So I heard ................

So I heard ................

on CTV. You certainly had an expert working on you.

How many times, I wonder, was his procedure postponed, re-scheduled, etc?

How many postponements

How many postponements

Obviously none. A friend of ours was hospitalized for two weeks prior to his bypass because this was the only way his cardio could guarantee the OR without further cancellations/rescheduling.

Maybe things are different in Quebec or may be just for some people.

On the table within 3 days of golfing with a cardiac surgeon. Monday golf - Tuesday Drs appt & test - Wednesday surgery.... nice!

Please don't get me started with Chretien.... he's got a pain in his chest - well I have a pain from him......lower though :D

Actually, my husband said "Too bad he got such a good surgeon"! Anyhow, I don't want to start a whole political thing here. I just figured any ex prime minister, good or bad, gets the best doctors, and I thought it was pretty cool that I had the same wonderful, fantastic surgeon!

He was actually golfing with a cardiologist from the Montreal Heart Institute, Guy Pelletier, not a surgeon.
