OK diet sheriff I am here to weigh in. Keep in mind I get up at 5PM EST Monday so evening for most everyone else is morning for me.

Start - 212
Current - 212
Change - 0

I didn't realize we were sharing our meals as well, suffice it to say that all of my meals are home made, sadly I enjoy cooking. Why do I say sadly you wonder? Well the batch of brownies may have something to do with that or perhaps the chocolate chip cookies. Ok, I must admit I also ate an ice cream cake this week, minus the three slices my wife and kids managed to get.

On the good side, over the years we have managed to eliminate MSG, and most HFCS and hydrogenated oil so at least we don't deal with any of that.

Anyone see the news today? Mississippi is the first state to hit the 30% of adults classified as obese. That is obese not overweight.

Brownies are my Crack. Choc. chip cookies come in a close second. I could eat an entire pan of brownies and my brain would never tell my stomach I'm full. Seriously. There's something about that chocolate, flour, sugar combo that makes me crazy.

Glad to have someone else who didn't budge this week!

I'm going to be honest. I'm very shocked that my weight actually went down. I'm not betting on it being a trend. I still eat way more than I should. The main problem being that I eat lunch really early (11 o'clock today), but my husband doesn't get home from work until really late. So I end up snacking when I get home. Today I ate a yogart for breakfast (forgot to eat my cereal, due to getting ready for the first day with students today), half a baked potato (with cheese, lt. sour cream, sun dried tomatoes, and mushrooms) and a couple of celery sticks for lunch, sushi rolls for snack (they were left over from last night, so I had to finish them off!), and a small portion of no-sodium bow-tie pasta with vodka sauce (from a jar, so the sauce had sodium, and I added ground turkey, mushrooms and olives... so much for lower sodium ;) ). I'm actually quite stuffed. And I now have plenty for lunch the next two days.

I'm not really eating all that well, but I'm trying to at least eat smaller portions. That's what helped me last time I lost weight. That and exercise. I was going to go to the gym today, but I was so exhausted from work I decided to wait until tomorrow. I HAVE to go tomorrow, though. I haven't worked out since last Thursday!

Sorry Cooker...I dont mean to be late....As I am half a day ahead of you guys I decided I would do my weigh-ins on Tuesday mornings so I dont have to be the first one to confess....:D

I didnt lose a single ounce this week...I was in denial about how terribly strict I need to be with counting the calories to lose any weight.....bugga!

Watch out next week!

Well done to all our Losers this week and to all who kept to their healthy eating plan.

start weight: 158
current weight: 158
goal: 140

I just want to say that I am very pleased with "all" of the reports!!! This is not easy and we know Rome was not built in a day!! Don't you freaking hate clichés??? :D

But consider this. If you did not lose any pounds that is ok. I did not see any gains reported!!! And you have to actually "stop" before you can turn around and head the other way:D Also, it takes a change in thinking which is hard to do, it takes some more time than others,, Just DON'T GIVE UP!!!! One ounce, one pound one day at a time. We can do it!!! Good luck on week two!!!!

Make that hot fudge sauce in place of chocolate syrup and I'd be "out" for days!

This is why I really have to go cold turkey with sweets. I don't have a "stop" button.

I am flattered. The truth will be 6, 8,10???.weeks from now. I am sure we will have very few dropouts if any. Thanks again everyone for being the bur under my backside.

You're right. And we will face challenges. Like today I had to pick granddaughter up from school and bring home supper on way back. Picked up a KFC dinner. Okay, I picked all the fried coating off, which didn't leave much, but still.... not prime cuisine. Live a hectic existence. Not always easy to eat a nice balanced meal. Do the best we can.

As long as we are comfortable about posting our weight loss, gain, ect. on Monday mornings..I don't think we will have any dropouts...the members dieting are all very smart, intelligent, witty, goodlooking:D , active posters on VR.Com...:D .......After all, no one is looking for a quick fix...(weight loss)....sure, some of us have posted a goal..But no one has said..they would drop out if not reached by that date.....I will be the first to post..if I gain weight..when we post on Monday mornings..   : BUT I will be honest.....even if I only lose 5 lbs in 3 months..that is more than I would not have loss. without Our support group..:D .Plus, I have learned..how many calories..in 2 tsp. of Mayo..90:eek: .Thought I was doing healthy ordering a tuna from Subway..530 calories... Best thing I did was pick up a book when I bought the weight-watchers scales at Eckerds....Name is The Complete Good Fat, Bad Fat..carb and calories counter by Lynn Sonberg... Lists ALL the Fast Food places and their calories in their products...why my change of life..NO more fast food..drive-thrus.....In case of an emergency..I will only eat 1/2 of what I order.:p Bonnie

It really is finger-lickin' good (and my Sadie dog says, paw-lickin' good too! :p

I try to make it just an occasional treat. Take the skin off too, no cole slaw, just a handful of potato wedges, and limit myself to one biscuit. Their baked beans are good. Not exactly a health-food delight but bound to stray once in a while. :p

Every time I read this thread I get hungry !!!!

If anyone is interested there is a site called calorieking.com and you can download a nutrition and exersice manager program (7 day free trial ) or buy it for $45. I use the australian version when I am trying to loose weight, Its like the calorie counting books but on the computer and has some great features.

Good luck to all the dieters, I'll be reading with interest

Confusion reigns!

I don't know what to do. I just bought a new electronic scale that says it's accurate. I weighed 154 this a.m. on my old scale (set 5 pounds heavy to match my cardio's scale which I just weighed on yesterday) and on the new scale is says I weigh 159  !

I'm waiting for my daughter to weigh on the new scale to let me know if she thinks it's accurate. She works out and weighs on gym scales all the time, my husband does as well. So I guess I'll wait for their opinions.

The good news is - even at 159, according to these web sites, I'm still in acceptable range and acceptable BMI for women my age and height. That being said - I know I'm not at my ideal weight which one of the sites below says is 147. I'll take that!!!!

Give these a look.

I started my new Fast Walk DVDs by Leslie Sansone. I've did the 2 mile fast walk Monday and today. It uses interval training. Take 1/2 hours. I worked up a good sweat, but feel good after working out. It's a better feeling than I got with Curves.

I bought some doctor scales several years ago (sliding weights) knowing that would be the answer to my weight loss quest:rolleyes: WRONG!!! They still don't match my doctors but I ain't neked and it ain't a first thing post pooh weigh in.:D :D The scales for me are to help me track loss or (hopefully not) gain. I know where I need/want to be by look and the way my clothes fit. I have a ways to go so I don't think it matters what they say as much as which direction they are moving.

My 2 cents.:p

These charts can be way off for some of us. A long time ago (18 years) I ran 6 miles a day (about 7 minutes per mile) over "lunch" and biked about 100 miles on the weekends. I had no extra weight (in my opinion). I weighed between 198 to 203. That would be 20 pounds over weight according to the charts, even for a "heavy build" (which I have). My conclusion--these charts can be way off for some of us.
