Hi:)

Just out of curiosity I was wondering what the summer time low and high temperatures are where you live? Taking humidity into account I believe Columbis SC to be the hottest place on the face of the earth!!!!!

That's why we have the best iced tea in the world:D :D

Tom

We have had wicked summers lately.....many temps of 30-32 Celsius (88-90F). Yesterday we hit 30C, and with the humidity it was deadly. Thunder storm came and fixed that!! Mind you, just a few nights ago, I had the heat on....at night it was 6C (44F).
We always have iced tea AND hot chocolate on hand :)

Our summertime highs usually run in the 90's but we have often topped 100. The humidity is also often high so it can be brutal. Never really paid much attention to the lows as I am usually sleeping so don't much care. This is a beer city but I don't drink beer so lemonade and water are my drinks of choice with an occasional treat of ice cold soda.

Normally, we are mid 80's, but so far this year, we've been high 80's. I think we are going to have a drought this year. It's been nearly 90 for a couple weeks and no significant rainfall except yesterday.

Lows, heck I don't think we have a normal. anything from 20 to -20 is normal for us.

The only place hotter than Arizona in the summer, during the monsoons, is the place where the devil makes his home. It's so hot in Arizona that:

the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.

the potatoes cook underground, and all you have to do to have lunch is to pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.

farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

the cows are giving evaporated milk.

the trees are whistling for the dogs.

you no longer associate bridges (or rivers) with water.

you can say 113 degrees without fainting.

you eat hot chilies to cool your mouth off.

you can make instant sun tea.

you learn that a seat belt makes a pretty good branding iron.

the temperature drops below 95, you feel a bit chilly
.
you've experienced condensation on your butt from the hot water in the toilet bowl.

you would give anything to be able to splash cold water on your face.

you can attend any function wearing shorts and a tank top.

The 4 seasons are: tolerable, hot, really hot, and ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!

you discover that in July, it takes only 2 fingers to drive your car.

you discover that you can get a sunburn through your car window.

you notice the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.

hot water now comes out of both taps.

it's noon in July, kids are on summer vacation, and not one person is out on the streets.

you actually burn your hand opening the car door.

you break a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.

But it sure is nice in the winter when the rest of the country is up to it's knees in snow.

Regards,
Blanche

It can go anywhere from 35-40 up to 104 or so. So our weather is quite variable. And it is a muggy warm, not a dry heat. It seems much hotter when it's muggy too.

People here like the Fall season a lot because it is warm during the day, but not overbearing and crisp at night and in the early morning.

I just love Ontario. My first puppy love lived in Port Colbourne (sp). Al and I are both from Buffalo, just a stone's throw from the Peace Bridge.

Two first class tickets free!!!!Hummmm. Hows about you inviting us to share your Christmas table...We love free tickets.

Blanche

Well, Blanche, I was hoping to see your town at Christmas....up here it can be nasty in December.
I've only lived in Ontario for 5 years, but I have been visiting for many years before that.

I have said for years..that Columbia S .C. was the hottest place (town) that I have been thru....passing thru on our way to Myrtle Beach in the motorhome.....the perfect rest-stop along the Interstate..but, wow, when I would get out to walk the dog.. Yet, the beach is what? 3 hours away?..Wonder why it is so hot?Charleston is hot, too..but on the ocean..with at least a breeze..when we had our houseboat on lake Hartwell , we had friends who would leave Columbia every Friday afternoon..drive 2 1/2 hours just for weekend..to escape the heat...He retired and they moved full time to lake Hartwell ........Here in the Ga. Mountains..we have the cool mornings..but heats up quickly during the day..I think it was 91 today? Bonnie

I have been checking the weather back in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. It looks like 40 degrees in the morning, climbing to the 80s in the hottest part of the day. I love cool weather with lots of sun. Puerto Rico is really warmer than I like on a long term basis. When I get home, I am taking a pot of French Press coffee out on the deck, and Barb & I will drink the whole thing.

I moved from St. Louis, MO to Montreal trying to escape the heat, but with global warming, even the cardinals have moved up here (the birds, not the team)!!

Last summer we managed a 44 Celcius (111F), this was the exception, however there we lots of days over 35 Celcius (95F). Over night lows in the low 20's Celcius, Low (70'sF). Last summer we had heavy smoke in Melbourne much of the time for 2 months as forest fires burnt over 1 million hectares (2.5 million acres) 130 km (80miles) to the east of the city. The smoke plume even reached New Zealand. Attached is a link to a newspaper story of the time. :)

High tomorrow is predicted to be 94. Since the humidity is only about 80% right now, it should be bearable. Lows are in the mid-70's usually, but that is long after sundown. Right now it is 79, but with humidity, feels like 83. It rarely gets over 100 here since we get the breeze from the gulf, but with the humidity often well into the 90's, it can be quite warm and sticky. People don't understand how the humidity can be over 90% without rain, but it often is that high here.

We were in Leesville, LA over the weekend and the car thermometer was reading 99. They were having sporadic rain so it was quite humid. Deodorant and perfume were my best friends!

our thermometer tells us 100 each day and no rain to break the heat. Lots of humidity. This morning, however, we got up to 60 degrees but it will be 100 or near before the day is over. Guess we have a cold front moved in to give us a break - go figure.

Our weather is cooler than normal this week but at 8am we are 70 with 87% humidity and bright sunshine! Nice temperature HORRID humidity...

Well Columbia sounds pretty damn good after Blanche put me in my place. :D ;) Home sweet home. Three hours from the beach, two from Charleston and two from the mountains.

Oh, and we have those Carolina girls;) ;) ;) ....game, set and match:D :D
