OK so after the fever, the anemia, the blood transfusions, the CAT scans they have released him, again. I can't say that I am feeling especially settled- I am on vigilant watch for anything to go amiss. I wonder how many patients have to go back in for pericardis and other issues??? I guess it's not too uncommon. You all refer to them as blips in the road to recovery.
Thank you all so very much for your postings, prayers- it's such a comfort to know that you all have a huge combined amount of knowledge.

Like I said earlier, why it is some people can go through this pretty much unscathed and others have a very difficult time is beyond me. We hear about great outcomes all the time, but those that don't have great outcomes either don't talk about it or the just don't come back.

Welcome home Scott. Hope that was the last hurdle.

Hi,

Glad Scott is home. I had three issues after I was sent home(not for misbehaving:p ) 1. fluid around the heart, treated with meds. 2. blood transfusion was an over night stay. 3. had to be cardioverted for a pesky bout of a-fib. All has been smooth sailing since.

Hopes and prayers that Scott continues to do well.

Tom

Hoping Scott can stay home this time and have a recovery free from additional "blips".

Hope all goes smoothly for Scott now. Yes, from reading hundreds of posts on here over the past two years-plus, I know that bumps in the road are not uncommon. There are folks who had rough ones, with return trips to the hospital, but are now doing well.

Glad to read that your son is home; hope all recovery goes smoothly from here on out. Please give Scott our best wishes. And take care.

So sorry to hear of all the bumps on Scott's raod to recovery. I had several bumps myself but having been in the hospital for 5 weeks they all happened before coming home. I know the bumps are frustrating and scary but I also know that after the bumps the road does smooth out.
I will continue to pray for Scott and for you. He is young and strong, that is to his advantage.

Peace of Christ,
Don
