Hello All,

I just wanted to drop you all a line to let you know that I report to the Hospital on Monday at noon, and my surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning. I'm not sure what time the surgery takes place, but I know it will be early morning.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Going in on Monday, the day prior to surgery, what will take place during this time?
2. Are there any questions or last minute comments I should make prior to Tuesday morning surgery time?

I will have my Sister or Brother-inlaw post for me and give you all updates on how things are going during my surgery and recovery time, until I can get a laptop in my lap.

My spirits are high, and I know all will go well. God is my guide and I will be in his hands as well as the surgeons during my time crossing over the mountain.

I wanted to thank you all again for such great inspiration and positive feedback before this time.

I'm siked and ready to become a new man.........

Thanks,

Ranger (John)

I went in the day of my surgery. However, about a week before that I went in for "pre-admission". I assume that's what your day prior will be like. They showed videos and went over what to expect. Showed me how to use the spirometer. I met with members of the surgical team as well as the step down doctors and nurse practicianer. I also met with a volunteer who was a OHS surviver and he gave me the "pep talk" (kind of like our VR community :p ) I filled out lots of forms.

Best wishes on your journey over the mountain, Ranger. I look forward to your update from the other side.

Best wishes, John. Today will be filled with pre-testing. Looking forward to hearing all good news from your family soon!

John,

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I went in on Monday and surgery the following morning also. They cath'ed me Moday and cut me on Tuesday. Nothing much happened in between except a shave:eek: and a little conversation with the doc's.

Good luck and smooth sailing.

Tom
