A Double Whammy

A Double Whammy

Thank you so much for all your prayers, support and well wishes! I am just getting a chance to post now. We had quite a hectic day yesterday. Surgery went very well and my son is now off the vent but still in ICU. They plan to take out his chest tubes tomorrow and move him to a regular room. He looks great and is in very good spirits. They are thinking he may even get to come home as early as Tuesday!!!

Just as they were taking him into the OR, I got a telephone call from my sister-in-law that my father was going to be also having triple bypass surgery at the same time, but in a hospital 20 miles away. My dad had no history of heart trouble, but had experienced some chest pains while walking on a treadmill. Sounds like he will also be coming home on Tuesday also. So now grandpa and grandson can compare battle scars!

This site has been such a support and will continue to be! Thanks!

What a day. I'm so sorry your Dad had problems, but so glad they caught it and could take care of it.

Continued prayers for your son's recovery. Please make sure you are getting a little rest.

Glad that your son's surgery went well ... as well as your Dad's. That should be fun for them to compare battle scars ;).
