Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't posted lately. My computer at home in not wanting to cooperate with us. I am now back to work. My surgeon let me come back for 4 hours a day for the next two weeks. I am a school nurse so it is not a very physically demanding job. I was 5 weeks out from surger this past Friday. I feel real good. If you remember my first post from surgery I was having some heart flutters 2 weeks out. They put a 24 hour heart monitor on me and found out I was going in and out of A-Fib with some Tachycardia. They put me on pacerone, toprol xl and coumadin. It did the trick. My heart is beating like it should now. My surgeon said I can go off of all the meds and just take an aspirin but he will let the Cardio do that. I don't go to my Cardiologist till May so I will be on these meds until then. Has anyone else ever been on Pacerone? I heard it is some wicked stuff but only if you are on it for long term.

Anyway, thanks for all the good wishes before and after the surgery. I went in on Friday and was home by noon on Monday. It is just amazing what they can do now.

Glad to see you are back Cathy! Missed you.

If you catch a cough from any of those schoolchildren don't forget what Gina said and use your cough pillow again if it gets severe.

Keep up the great recovery.

I'm on amioderone for heart pacing, don't know much about the Pacerone. I don't like any of 'em.

Welcome back! I'm glad you're doing well. Sorry you had the bout with a-fib but glad it got straightened out. Hope you continue to feel well.

Thanks Ruth and Karlynn - I really haven't had to use my pillow since the 1st week post-op. My husband and others have said that they would never have known I had OHS by the way I look and can do things. It has been this way since 3 weeks out. I guess I am one of the lucky ones!! By the way, they gave me a heart shaped pillow in the hospital. I thought that was a sweet thing to do for the heart patients.

Cathy:
I was thinking about you just the other day. Good to see you here and to know that you are doing well. Hope you are feeling stronger and better every day.
Kindest regards,
Blanche

I also wanted to tell everyone that my heart center has a coumadin clinic. The nurses just keep track of everyone's PT and that is all they do. It is pretty nice. I get my blood drawn every Monday, and they call me with the results and any changes on Tuesday. So far it is working out good. I am still jumping around and was told I probably will be until I get taken off it.
