Does anyone know if Brian has a care page? I'm sure I'm not the only one here that is getting anxious over news of his surgery. Still praying.

Brian's surgery

He came out of surgery last night about 6:30 pm (11 hrs). They have take out the LVAD. Had to repair the mitral valve in addition to new aortic valve and ascending aorta, also had to replace 1 bypass. He is still asleep and on the vent. His numbers look "ok", not great, but "ok". They are going to try to get him off the vent this afternoon. I have been posting on our motorcycle club's message board. www.viewfindersmc.com, go to the message board, public forum, general discussion and you can see the progress of the last week. Please keep praying. I thought it would go easier than this. The docs seems happy though so I hope I am overreacting. There are a lot of things that have happened that I will be asking about later, but my brain couldn't absorb any of your info now so I am trying to take it one day (hr) at a time. It's pretty hard for a control freak like me.

Thank you very much for your prayers and thought and info. I couldn't have done this without you guys.

Rushing out the door.........

Rushing out the door.........

but had to come check. I am so glad that you were able to post an update, Deanne. It is appreciated, and I am so grateful that the surgery was a success. I know it isn't easy, but remember that Brian had a lot done. As Phyllis said, happy docs are a good thing. Things were kind of crazy after Katie's last surgery(ies) - slight understatement here - but her surgeon was pleased overall with her progress, and it eventually turned out to be okay, thank God. But yes, I remember all too well those moments - days where my brain was fried. Do take it one hour and day at a time and you will be home before you know it. Sending hugs and lots more prayers. Keeping Brian in my prayers. I'm glad that the doctors are happy with the outcome.

Vent is out

Vent is out

noon- Praise God, the vent is out!!! First words out of his mouth "is the pump out?", second words "more drugs". He is not a happy camper, but at this point I guess that is good. Docs have floated through and seem happy.

Deanne, been thinking of you 24/7! I know this is still very hard for you and Brian and I send the warmest wishes and hugs to you both.

You are an amazing woman with incredible love for your son and this will see him through.

Massive Love, Prayers and hugs to you both
