Good for you Stretch! So glad you're doing so well. I hope the rest of your recovery is just as successful. Happy skiing and scouting.

I think it's so cool how your mom and RCB's mom are heroes to you respectively and had a hand in providing hope to valve patients, albeit in different ways. Quite inspirational.

I second that thought, Wise, but I want to include ALL the moms on VR that are here due to their child's valve replacement.

Congratulations Stretch!

Congratulations Stretch!

Hope you continue to live life to the fullest! This is good news :)

Great News

Great News

Congratulations Stretch.

It must be a big relief to get a report like that.

Don't worry about gloating. Enjoy it, you have obviously had many years when the feedback from doctors hasn't been so good.

All the best.

Chris

Stretch,

I know how you feel (see my ECHO post). Ain't life great. Most of us come thru this feeling 200 per cent better but it always helps to get that affirmation from those that were directly involved.

Kudos to your Mom too. I thank God that we never had to make a decision such as that with our kids. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for her to make that decision, only knowing in her heart that it was the right one. Today, we have the internet (and special places like VR.COM) to guide us. There is a wealth of information here, good and bad, to help us in our quest for guidance. But as the "Valve Selection" section points out, it ultimately comes down to a choice only we can live with. Individually we must weigh the options (pro and con), listen to the guidance given to us and then make that decision. Your decision, just as the one your Mom made 54 years ago, was the right one--FOR YOU. The next guy, who knows.

God has richly blessed you,

Danny :)

I agree complete, Gadget. There was no way to know at the time whether my mom was making the right decision or not. In this particular case, it turned out well. RCB's parents made a different decision, and it turned out well, also.

However, I must take issue, dear Gadget, with your assertion that my mom's decision making when I was an infant was 54 years ago. It was a mere 43 years years ago. Which makes me 43 also, not 54!

May God Bless (anyway),

Hey! What wonderful news, Stretch! A big heartfelt congratulations to you! Oh, and personally, I think it's great to hear from the folks that can boast about how wonderful they feel and how great the whole world seems to them. Gives all the rest of us a boost and hope - the best gift of all!
And you're giving it to us!!

Again, congrats!

Jan
