Geesh! I'm finally home!! I'm sorry I didn't have Debbie update you more, it seems like things changed by the minute. And, as you can see my hubby can't get a story straight! I didn't have two valves, just the aortic and the ascending :D he's just totally clueless, the doc drew him a nice pic a few days after surgery so now he understands! Good thing I didn't have him try and update you all here....who knows what he would have told you!

Anyway, I had partial heart block, that resolved itself after they started talking pacemaker. Then an infection started somewhere with a low grade temp. They finally shifted me out of ICU this last Friday and having a private room without a huge window outside the nurses station was heaven! Now, my heart rate is running a little high but they are still thinking that may resolve itself also and just watching it. I was on Cipro (sp?) for the infection and they want me to take something else (which when we went to fill it, found out it was discontinued). Now I have to wait for tomorrow for a new antibiotic and that makes me a little anxious, he wanted me on antibiotics for two months!!

Anyway, it felt good to take a shower and get in my own jammies and not be attached to any sort of wiring! I just wanted to check in on you all and thank you for the well wishes, you are the best! I'll be back as I get better to read up on everyone!!

GREAT NEWS!!! So glad you are home now!!! Rest up and recover. I will be thinking of you.

Steph

Welcome home, Lynn - good to hear from you.

There is nothing quite like your own jammies, no wires, no temp taking in the middle of the night, etc. It's almost like a great vacation.

Hope your pain is not too bad and you are able to sleep. If those are controlled, everything else will fall into place.

Take care.

I am SO glad to hear from you!!!! I was actually getting worried and yet I knew somehow I shouldn't be. You sound great. Better than great! So glad you're back amongst us.

Dont' worry about the lack of antibiotic for a day....you've probably got plenty in your system to hold you for 24 hours. If you don't have any troubles with antibiotics (I tend to be allergic to most of the older/standard ones) then don't worry about the 2 months, etiher. So much better to be safe than sorry. Glad they are keeping a watchful eye over you!!

Welcome home!!!! You did it! Oh, that is so great!!! You're home!

Take care. We'll be here whenever you're rested enough to share your story.

BEST WISHES!!! Marguerite :D :D :D

PS. Oh....haha!!! I just got the pun.... yes HOLY COW!! and you got your bovine, didn't you!!

Welcome home Lynn! As you can see, a lot of us relate to the wonderful feeling of familiar jammies!

It's not unusual for your HR to be a little high for a while after surgery. Maybe ask your doctor what they think alarming is, so that you can better judge what's "normal" right now and what's not normal.

Our mantra, and your only tasks for the next several days is to "walk, sleep, eat and breathe"!!!

Welcome home Lynn. Glad everything is going well. Going up the mountain is always the hardest part. Sometimes coming down has it's rough spots, but it's always easier.

*HI Lynn, So very glad to hear you are home and the worst is over with. Just rest now and recover. Very best wishes, Jacqui...8)

It is so nice to hear that you are home and I remember how very nice it was to be in my own home. It was so nice and quiet after being entangled in wires and tubes for days. Tomorrow morning should be nice too in the morning when no one is there for just a little blood. I hope all goes well with your recovery and you have smooth sailing from here on out. God Bless.

Wonderful news, Lynn!

So GOOD to see you posting again ... welcome back :).

Lynn - I was also wondering about you. So glad to hear you are home and now can concentrate on recovering. Get some rest and let us know how you are doing when you feel up to it. Good luck!
