i had a doc appt yesterday (friday) with my card and it went very well. I'm 2 weeks post-op and I have no fluid in my lungs and my heart is allready down to its regular size[awsome]. She said my heart sounds excellent and was very impressed. I got to see my chest x-rays. I guess I have 4 wires (ones a figure 8, I thought it looked cool) and they said I could get a cd of all of my pictures from the records office so Im excited about that.
Physically I'm doing very well I think. Ive gone for walks almost two miles long and only felt a little tired (partly cause its freezing in the evening). My main problem is remembering not to lift anything or use my arms to get out of a chair. That and I cant sleep at night (I got maybe 3-4 hours past 3 nights) but Im an insomniac anyways.
Lets hope all keeps going well.

Glad to see you doing so well, LC. Two miles at two weeks is impressive! Keep up the great recovery.

Sounds GREAT!! Keep up the good work.

About another month or so watching what you lift and how you stretch and you'll be cruising back to normal. Maybe sit in a higher chair so that you can just stand right up and not need your arms at all.

Sorry about the sleep thing. Have you grabbed all the extra pillows in your house and made a nice squishy surrounding for yourself.....propping up bits and pieces of yourself until you really feel comfy?? I slept sitting up for 2 months, I think. Put a roll under my knees and squished pillows by my sides for arm rests.

Keep up the great progress!!

:D Marguerite
