Day Before the Cruise Get Together - Long Beach, CA

Hello,

As Rain suggested, I am starting a thread so that we can discuss a get together in Long Beach on Sunday October 22nd.

We are driving there from AZ and will probably arrive in town around 5pm or so.

I am going to do some checking for a place to eat and meet.

But for whoever is interested, I am going out on a limb and saying that lets plan on meeting at 6:30pm on Sunday Evening.

I've only been a SoCal resident for about four years, so while my territorial circle has been expanding, it has yet to reach up into Long Beach. Regardless, us OC people try not to fraternize with the LA folk - I guess I'll make an exception in this case.

I'm up for anything you find, and I'll try to do my part by asking my friends around here and seeing if anyone has any ideas.

Count me in! I'll probably fly solo because I can't imagine subjecting the woman to any more Valvespeak than she's already had to deal with.

That's exactly why my hubby is averse to going. My valve has been a daily subject for the past six months, and even I'm tiring of explaining The Valve Story to people. But not you guys cause you've all been there, done that! It'll be one happy heart reunion!

Can't exactly say that I look like my avatar. I have short hair now, and am 40 pounds lighter than I am in the avatar, which was our engagement pic.

I think the only one that really looks like their avatar is Ross .

In the past, significant others have typically been glad that they came. At least thats what my wife tells me. maybe she has been lying to me

Anyway - EVERYONE is invited. Once we meek people in person that we only knew online it totally changes the dynamic and feel of the whole experience. It's pretty cool.

Oh - By the way -after this day, only 10 more days til the cruise

Hank is right about the spouses/SO's being glad they came. I dragged Glenn to my first reunion dinner and he had a really good time. For him, meeting some of the VR members in person assured him that I wasn't developing friendships with crazy, internet stalkers! Just crazy valve people!

Ten days and counting.... although we?re leaving Colorado a week from today. Spending Friday night in Las Vegas and then on to California. Yippee!!
