Actually, feeling quite well today. I only feel 125 years old instead of 150 :D
Did any of you have swollen feet? This is the first time in my life for me and how soon will it go away?
I thought I would come home a skinny kid after surgery but my weight is up 15 pounds. Did that happen to anyone else?
I like to read but can only do so for very short times. My eyes get blurry and very tired. Finally, I can only stay on this computer for 10 or 15 minutes and spots start flying all over the place. Anyone else?

You guys are all great and thanks for your responses to my other post. I hope to be able to catch up on some of the other topics soon but my eyes just don't cooperate. I also hope to write a complete report about my whole experience because I have curious friends.

Mel,
I think you should put a call into the cardio or the surgeon. It sounds like you may be retaining fluid. Dick was told to weigh himself every morning and to report a weight gain of more than 2lbs. in a day. Call- that's what they are there for and better safe than sorry!

I agree with Phyllis. Please call the number they should have left you for questions. I got very "inflated" in ICU but they were able to calm it down before I left the hospital. That is not something to ignore. Please let us know what they tell you.

As for the spots with the computer....it might help to tone down the brightness on the screen (or even put on some sunglasses!) You may find those spots coming on when you go outside into the bright sun, too. They might get to be very unusual visual effects.......generally all part of the recovery....occular migraines.....no headache. There have been lots of threads about visual disturbances.

Take care now! Rest, rest, breathe, breathe and walk, walk walk.

:) Marguerite

Yep I came out of surgery weighing a bunch more than when I went in. I was 164 at preop and 190 after. I am now down to 154, I dropped down as low as 151. My hands looked like the pillsbury doughboy and my feet almost would not fit in my shoes, it took a couple weeks before my feet got back close to normal size.

Yea, I had the same problem. I was released 5 days post OP and was bakc in the ER on night 6. They gave Lasik or Lasix or however you spell that horse drug. I peed off about 55 gal of water in 4 hours, OK, maybe it was 1 gal but it fixed the problem. My legs and feet were no longer swollen. If you have more problems with the vision thing let me know, I had a rather long stint of that issue. Keep focused on the end result, it gets better.

Yep I second the call in to the cardio or surgeon..
I lost daily after I came home.. up till week 3 when I started filling up again (but I had some other complications)
As for the vision thing.. all I can say is I completly understand.. I still have problems with my eyes.. Altho It does get better!
Hang in there.. can't rush the healing.. relax and take care:)
tomorrow I bet you only feel 90 ;)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Called the surgeon and he called in a script for lasik. Started it at 4 this afternoon and have been to the bathroom several times already.
Eyes are a lot better today too. Caught up on a lot of emails I received from friends and my running forum. Next is to catch up on this forum.
Managed 3 walks, two of them 1/2 mile. I'm a happier camper tonight :)

Great news, Mel. Best wishes for a continued recovery- hope each day is a better one!
