i was laying on an operating table at the early stages of my Ross Procedure operation.
It is hard to imagine that it has been six years already. There are days I still can't believe any of this has happened.
Every year my prognosis from my check-ups is good news. With the exception of last year when the cardio had thought he was seeing another aneurysm developing. He had based this on just measurements from the echo's. Those measurements are too much relying on the different technicians who would have performed the echo. My cardio ordered a CT scan two days later, & after review of the CT scan both my surgeon & cardio were satisfied that there was not another aneurysm developing.
But they did decide to have the CT scan added to my annual testing to keep us assured there aren't any vessels beginning to dilate. They are doing the scan from my head to my belt buckle area.
So all is well here, and my heart keeps up with my very busy life....from hard hunts to full dress out in the "moon suits" performing HAZMAT clean-up.
So to all that are facing AVR or other types of valve surgery or have recently peaked the mountain and are facing recovery......... you can lead a very normal life. Most of us do !
God Bless
