Hi

Ok ?its my turn now , im leaving home on monday morning to the hospital ,but dont konw how long the pre-op will take . ( sorry nancy i was waiting to get the date and then reply your post )

my friends say anesthesia is a wonderful experience ?I don?t pretend to be that much strong but really no special fear of surgery and painful processes, instead , a little bit ! feeling sad . at this age and both valves, dissapointing .
This evening I was listening to music and crying loudly! . my future is totally foggy ?.it can be affected by this surgery in both good or bad way . till now it has been very good and I hope it continues ..my view to the world has been changed a lot. but , awful thoughts also coming to mind. please pray for me ..i really prefer death to being a person physically in need or a useless one in future .

Anyway , at the moment nothing to complain ?family , friends , teachers, my boss at work and etc all are supporting me ..
Im not prepared yet ?with a double energy im doing my works...today I cut my very long hair , the result of 3 year effort!
Ok , I guess you are bored . sorry my English is not ok .

i never forget your accompany :)

Solmaz, your English is fine; Farsi would be impossible here.

After your surgery and recovery, you'll be amazed at how your life improves - your energy returns, you can breathe well, you quit feeling like an old person. It's nothing but good. Recovery is difficult; but if you follow your doctors' orders and do your breathing exercises and walk as much as you possibly can, you'll speed up recovery. One day you'll wake up and be so surprised that you feel so good. Recovery isn't a smooth road - you'll have a great day, do too much, and be tired the next day. Two steps forward, one step back. But gradually you'll realize that things are much better most of the time.

I understand your grief and sorrow; your body's let you down. But it's a mechanical problem; and a good mechanic will fix it. Most diseases aren't like that; so you can be glad you're alive in this time when the surgeons can offer you a long and healthy life.

Best of luck in the hospital. We'll be anxiously awaiting a post telling us your surgery is complete and you're recovering. If there's anyone who could post about your condition, we'd sure appreciate it.

All of our good thoughts and prayers are winging your way.

Solmaz,

Bless you. You have my prayers. We look forward to hearing news of your successful operation. Try to keep your spirits up. You have helped raised the spirits of many of us here with your terrific attitude.

All best to you,

Bob

It breaks my heart that you are feeling so low right now. It's understandable, of course, but like Georgia said, you are going to feel so much better! You really are...hold on to that thought! Visualize yourself a week from now....your ohs will be behind you. Visualize the new, healthy Solmaz! You've felt so bad for so long....it's hard to imagine that very soon you will be able to do so much more than you can now. Embrace your recovery period. Each day will find you becoming a little bit stronger!! You will be so amazed Solmaz! Believe!!!! You are most definitely in my prayers. I pray for a most peaceful weekend for you and a very successful surgery. I'll be looking for your friends to update us!
I wish you only the very best!
Hugs from America,
Debbi

Looking forward to a post that all this is behind you and you are doing fine. Best wishes for a successful surgery and boring recovery.

You are in my prayers and I hope there will be some one to update for you. I look forward to reading your posts when you get home, If you are interested my son had his 4th OHS last may and you can read his history of his care page www.caringbridge.org/nj/justinw and she how much better he felt and how quickly he was up and about, now he was 17 but still should cheer you alittle to picture your self doing the same, Lyn

Dear Solmaz,
I know that you are feeling overwhelmed right now, but soon you will have the surgery behind you! I'm sure that you will come through with no problems....I had both my mitral and aortic valves (also due to rheumatic fever) replaced about 9 weeks ago and I am recovering really well....I've been walking 3 miles a day and I've even returned to mowing my lawn myself.

Your first couple of weeks following surgery will be the most challenging in your recovery, but very manageable. There really isn't as much pain associated with recovery from the surgery as you might have imagined. Mostly you'll be tired and need to conserve your energy and not overdo things!

Good wishes for your upcoming surgery and for a great life on the other side of the mountain!

Susan

Solmaz,
Please just try to keep in mind that soon your surgery will be over. After recovery, you will be feeling so much better that this scary time will be a distant memory.
Waiting for surgery can be a tough time but it will pass and all will be well.
BTW - your English is great. I am always in awe of people who know languages other than their native one - you should be proud.
May you find peace.

Solmaz
I will be keeping you in my thoughts. It is fine to cry and grieve. It is all part of the process of acceptance of what you are going to go through. My double valves are 21 years old now and still clicking....best wishes to you
Kathleen

The doubts and fears you have now, we have all had. This is normal. Many things that happen that don't seem normal, are, during this surgery.

Good journey and I'll be praying for you too. Just come back to us when you can and let us how your doing. :)

Solmaz-

Well, I'm excited for you that you are going to be on the road to recovery very soon. Think of this as a, sort of, second birthday for your heart.

We will all be waiting to hear from you when you are able to post again. So until we hear from you again when you are fixed up, may the God who watches over all of us be at your side as you go into surgery.

You have reached the foot of the mountain. Probably by this moment you have begun your journey. Everyone here is praying for your great recovery. We are so glad you joined us and we hope we have given encouragement. We will be waiting anxiously to hear from you after your surgery. For now:

GODSPEED!

By the way, to us your English is perfect.

Dear Solmaz

Dear Solmaz

Keep the positive thoughts and you'll be through in no time. At the begining it'll be a little hard but time goes pretty fast and you start feeling better. Try to get a comfortable chair, a recliner if possible, for the first fe weeks. Let's know about you after the operation and think you have many people across the ocean thinking of and praying for you
