Bon I tried last night. I spent 3 hours making supper and it turned out to be an utter disaster. I don't know what we'll do tonight. Sloppy Joes probably.

Pulled chicken, gravy over biscuits with peas and carrots. Everything tasted terrible. How can a person kill that?
 
The first time I tried to make homemade spaghetti sauce, it was a disaster. I had watched my mother make it, but didn't have a recipe. I was young. My Mom always thickened the sauce with a "little" cornstarch/water mixture. So I tried that. It was still too runny for me, so I added more conrstarch, more constarch, and yuk! It was finally thicker, not runny, but had a very weird pale color and tasted like chalk! I was so embarrassed. Never did that again, without a recipe and to this day, I haven't found a need for cornstarch to thicken tomato sauce - I use tomato paste, so I don't know why my Mom used cornstarch???

26 years is a long time these days, I guess you must have learned the secret to a 'happy marriage'.
It of course is those two little words................YES DEAR !!:rolleyes:
Next month we celebrate 46 years, yipes where did my life go?:eek:

I don't know if the chicken was just plain bad or what. Date was alright, but it did not taste good at all and I used no seasonings because I've been killing stuff with pepper lately. The biscuits were just plain yuck too. I was so mad.

Well I did it. I prepared a feast fit for junk yard dog of gourmet sloppy joes, potato chips, and pickles. I CAN do that! :D
 
Congratulations, Ross. (on your marriage....not the dinner). We just got home from a couple of days in the NC mountains as a pre-anniversary trip. We have our 40th anniversary coming up July 1st. I hope you and Lyn have many more years together. You've gone through so much together and have supported each other in so many ways. Does Lyn have the same kind of sense of humor you do? My husband's sense of humor is one of the things I love most about him. I've read that laughter shatters stress and I think I really believe that.
