    I had one of the old band around your chest and read-out on your wrist type monitors. It no longer works. What is a good brand name monitor to wear while working out. I do not run, but like to monitor my pulse rate while walking and resistant work outs.

    Metoprolol generic for Lopressor

    I had a "funny" experience today. Sweating.....funny feeling in my head (not really dizzy)........someone suggested that 50MG of Lopressor twice per day may be making my Blood Pressure low. I will search....but wondered if anyone has a quick comment. Thanks

    Cold one week out

    I am scheduled for next Tuesday. My restricted meds list says to stop over the counter cold medicine 5 days prior. Any ideas? At what point do I consider postponing? Already re-scheduled one time (surgeon conflict of schedule)

    Tylenol post surgery

    I read on the threads that Tylenol is the "drug of choice" after one no longer needs the stronger stuff. I was going to "stock up" before the surgery. Do you take regular strength, arthritis pain formula, Tylenol PM, are generics OK? ......or do the docs recommend something entirely different...

    Question on meds concerning ring

    The surgeon wants me to stay with lipitor even though my choresterol levels are ok because of the risk of cholesterol gunking up the annuloplasty ring.     Me too!

    My surgery has also been postponed. I learned at pre-testing yesterday that the surgery will not be until April 28. I'm in the miserable Ohio weather twenty days too soon....grrrrrrrr But am thankful that I still have a great surgeon and the # 1 heart hospital...maybe the weather will warm up!!

    Cleveland Clinic scheduling called yesterday. I am scheduled for minimally invasive robotically assisted mitral valve repair with Dr Marc Gillinov on April 16, 2009. Countdown to getting out of this waiting room begins!!

    Question on Heart Cath

    I recently went for pap and doc said I had a heart murmur (she said you've probably been told that before, I had not! Now a series of tests, cardio, etc Am having my first heart cath tomorrow and they plan to use a "star closure" Has anyone heard of this. I only read of pressure closures????
