Robotic mitral repair

The Cleveland Clinic site details a repair, replacement surgery using robotic methods. Any comments or experiences with it?

i had it done 3 months ago at St. Joseph's in atlanta. Only one day in the ICU and about three or four days in the hospital. They say full recovery is 3 to 4 weeks, but that depends on the person i guess. If you have to have heart surgery, it's the way to go in my opinion. I only have 4 tiny scars on the right side of my chest, and one in the groin. my surgeon said that he was able to make a life long repair, but i guess only time will tell that. any other questions you have about it, just let me know.

I looked into it as well but decided against it. Mainly the travel to Cleveland and being away from family. Also you are on bypass for 1/2 hour longer. If you google Davinci mitral valve repair you will get lots of info. I believe they do it in Miami as well.
