    SF area surgeon

    At the time of my surgery I was a pretty avid Mountainbiker/Snowboarder, and really didn't want to be on blood thinners. Especially since I had a tendency to crash quite a bit. :) Now that I have mellowed in my old age I will probably go w/ a mechanical valve when it's time for a replacement.

    post op fluid retention question

    When I was discharged, the clothes I wore in would not fit, and I ate VERY little during my stay. I was approx 12lbs heavier than pre-surgery.     hodgkins connection?

    I know I am very late to this thread, but I too had radiation treatments for Hodgkins back in 1975, and my stenosis was discovered in 1993. All the docs are convinced that this led to the stenosis.
