Its always a slog, and as you age it gets harder. Why I train is exemplified by this guy:

all that hard work makes these moments possible

live it, but live it to be able to keep living it (until you can't)

(or live to ride, ride to live as we say in Oz)

Is that related to the difference between people who eat to live and those who live to eat?

My wife often asks me why I train so diligently. That's when I remind her that the older I get, the harder it gets to regain conditioning. She is considerably younger, so she will yet learn this. What I don't tell her is that I'm deathly afraid that if I don't regain my conditioning as soon as I can, I may never get "back there." One cannot realize the value of physical conditioning until one has had "it" and lost it. One will then do almost anything to get it back.

The phrase that got me started on my personal quest for physical fitness? "Yes, Drill Sergeant!"
