Im not sure that this is my prob, but 2 days ago I noticed a little redness
on the bottom1/2 inch of my previously healed incision. Now it is 'pooching
out' just a little. There is also what looks to be a small angioma or red spider
vein on top of the scar. Im about 10 weeks post op,have no fever , vitals
are normal, and there is no pain.I really was hoping for an uneventful recovery,
but ... oh well.
On a more positive note-
I have found this site and you guys very helpful , I really appreciate it,This is
also where I found a reference to these type of hernias.
So just in case this IS my problem , I wrapped an ACE bandage tightly around
myself to give support. I also found a pic from TOOTS of a member who has an
incisional hernia and I must say it looks nothing like mine.
Thanks for listening ,

I have one that's been repaired mulitple times and again is back. My tissues suck for sewing, so nothing holds. If you have decent tissue, they can fix you up nicely. I just don't like it because simply bumping it hurts.

Here is my pic from TOOTS. You can see my alien well here.

AAAAARRRRR Ross i clicked:( :D

Sorry Dina no advice, hope you can get it cleared up, best wishes.

My first heart surgery left me with a spot at the very top of my incision that did not heal properlywhen I had the spot removed an undissolved suture was discovered in the mass of scar tissue that formed around th edges of this soft mass with an open center.Have your surgeon or your PCP look at this.

Sounds more like a keloid, possibly due to undissolved suture. Chris gets an occasional suture that pops through, but it heals up once you pull the piece of suture out or cut it low. Obviously, you should have your doc or PA do this. Those darn sutures never dissolve in Chris; he was getting some that worked their way out of his lower abdominal scar for years.

I didnt get sutures - I was 'glued'. But it hasnt changed since a few days ago,
so its prob nothing, though the placement bothers me since the redness and
SLIGHT swelling is in the same place where my drainage tubes were.
I figured If there was any bleeding or drainage it would go thru this route.
I also retain fluid so it could be some edema (?).
Sometimes it seems like the symptoms I have that are unusual or unknown,
almost become a mystery to be solved, but of course it helps to have some
medical-biological knowledge along with detective abilities to find the cause.
I suppose this is why I enjoy watching "House" And even though I
have a nursing background....'A little learning can be a dangerous thing...'

Thanks to all for your replies:)
