Hi I was wondering whether anyone could help me?

Visited hospital yesterday, lengthy echo with two cardiologists. Blood test, ECG - the lot - all clear. And they were happy. I have a temperature today (probably a bug). But was wondering if there was any chance I could’ve contracted Endocarditis overnight, after the doctors gave me the all-clear.

Bit nervous as I have had endocarditis twice.

I mean, there’s a chance. 🤷🏼‍♂️ There’s also a chance it’s just a regular cold or flu picked up where sick people gather.

Not really the kind of thing for an Internet forum to determine for you. If I had legit reasons to suspect endocarditis, I’d reach out to my Dr or head straight to urgent care or the emergency room.

It's always possible, but there is nothing involved in an echo which would give you endocarditis.

My first suspect would be that you picked up a bug visiting the clinic from someone else who had a bug. Unless one of the other patients there was a vampire who bit you, I'd not suspect endocarditis.

understood, and as I understand the issue, once you've had endo you're more likely to have endo. So just stay vigilant and take the low hanging fruit view of "I got a cold" from someone in a concentrated area of sick people.

Endo btw isn't something you catch, rather, its most likely something in your mouth all the time.

Let us know what you found out on what caused the fever, for anything can cause a fever.

Endo is a Diabetes specialist. I think you meant Covid-19.

We're you getting an echo because you had endocarditis and went through treatment and now having an echo to see if everything is functioning properly now that the infection has been treated? If your fairly close to your last bout of endocarditis I think I would be suspicious if I had a fever. Check with your cardiologist and make sure it's not coming back?
