Stem cell for heart regeneration

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I came across this topic about stem cell techniques after heart damage after an infarct.

A friend here in Tulsa has actually received this treatment. The therapy resulted in some new tissue growth along with the formation of many new blood vessels that now feed his heart. The treatment was initiated after he was told he had only a few days to live following a long history of heart disease. I don't know how often this is being used now but my friend is alive four years later and walks a few blocks every day living a pretty normal life.
