and one day or four weeks ago tomorrow since I came home from the hospital. I'm doing great.
Since I arrived home, I began going for walks, gently increasing their length every day. Last Saturday I walked from my house to the main east-west highway and back. 1.1 miles roundtrip or my old pre-op walk. Done it 3 more times since, would have done it more except for bad weather. My pace is slower but I'll increase that with time. Each walk was also done without my taking a breather at any point along the way.
I began working from home last week part-time. All is going well there, if I get tired I go take a nap. My PT INR is level so my primary doc said for it not to be tested again for 4 weeks. The home healthcare nurse who was only sporadically visiting any more, is now done with me. I still get occupational and physical therapy at home. Beginning in October I'll probably be down just to the occupational therapy. My right hand is still on the mend.
Had a cardio gram(? Its like a heart ultrasound) on Monday. Doctor's office didn't call me, so I guess I'll live The cardiologist however wants full bloodwork done. I just had the same thing done by my primary for my cancer checkup two weeks ago. I hate having to go back to quest, but have no choice. At least I won't be fasting till 2 pm and without food till 4 like what happened when I had surgery postponed when in JFK hospital last Jan 2007. Hospital Patient rule #6- If you fast or not allowed food, when you do order a meal, food service will take forever to bring it to you. On the date in question, I waited 90 minutes for a food tray.
Piece of advice for male patients still waiting for surgery- Stock up on t-shirts or buttonless shirts. My regular pull over shirts would have the buttons driving me nuts because of their rubbing the scar area from my surgery. Leonita, my wife and savior as always, found buttonless shirts on sale at the nearby drug store. Guess for how much? 49 cents each. Unless you live in Palm Beach County or have a CVS Pharmacy nearby, you'll probably have to pay more.
My goal is to be up to walking 2-4 miles each of five days in November. The LPGA comes to town, and I'll be covering it. I prefer to walk the course with the players than spend all my time in the press area. Only potential flaw or drawback is- Trump International is very hilly for a Florida course.
Could a forum member help me put a photo in my profile. I tried but it didn't work. My email is Removed for safety by Ross or leave me a detailed message here how to do it. Instructions should be written as if you're talking to a complete computer nitwit. For that's me.
Here's the photo I'd like to put up.

What's such a beautiful woman doing married to me? Those mysteries of the world. Like who built Stone henge and why there are interstate highways in Hawaii.......
