I have not been active here in years, but I need help. I've had my mechanical valve since 2002 and have been home monitoring MOST of that time. Over the last 19 years I've changed insurances and home monitoring companies a number of times. However, now I'm struggling. Acelis Connected Health, the company I'd been going through for INR monitoring contacted me in June to tell me they no longer accept my insurance. I contacted my insurance company (Scott & White Healthcare) to see if they could tell me who did take them before contacting my cardiologist. Unfortunately, the rep that I was talking to only came up with one possible company. I tried contacting them, but they wouldn't tell me if they took my insurance until my cardiologist sent in the orders. It took a MONTH to get the orders sent. The doctor's office would say they sent it, but the company would tell me they hadn't received it. Last week I finally got confirmation that they had received the orders and they got my insurance information. I didn't hear from them the rest of the week, so this morning I called. All I was told was "we are out of network for your insurance." 🤦‍♀️ So now I have no idea who to contact. I sent a message to my cardiologist's office, but all I got was "You can always go to a lab." (My cardiologist does not have many patients on coumadin because she is a pediatric cardiologist.)

I don't want to go to a lab. I don't like being a pin cushion. I've been doing home testing for 18+ years, even before it was common! Why, when there are so many more options available am I suddenly unable to get it covered?!

Does anyone know of a home monitoring company that takes Scott & White Healthcare?
