hi, i was just looking at some of my paperwork and report had that all of my valves seem to have a little regurgitation??? I know it means the blood is backing up, is this typical with a bav:confused:

thanks deb

Hi Deb,
I don't know if this is something that happens with BAV, but I too noticed on my last echo that 3 out of the 4 valves now show mild regurgitation and the 4th has mod. regurg (pulmonary valve). If it concerns you, don't hesitate to talk to your cardiologist about it.

I have been told that most people have 'trivial' regurgitation in at least one valve and this is considered 'normal'.

my doc said to me once that as we get older our heart valves often present a bit of regurgitation, and its really nothing to be too concerned about.
