Well, I think, you should discuss the issue on your veins with a specialist.
It might come up that you anyway would have to take Coumadin in the future to avoid blood clotting in your veins. If you anyway have to take it, this could make your choice for a mechanical valve easier.
But this is just a complet guess from me as a lay on this topic.
