Mitral Valve Repair DONE!

Had the valve repaired with a 4" insision by Dr. Cosgrove at CCF. That guy is good.
He used a #34 cosgrove ring and did a quad resection of the postieror leaflet.
I'm home and doing well. Thanks to all for the support and prayers.
If you need a good surgeon I can recommend him and the CCF.

It's great to hear they could repair your valve and that you're home and doing okay. Isn't it wonderful that we have doctors who can help us? Take it easy!

Brad, You are very fortunate to get a good repair. I was not so lucky- my mitral valve was shot so I received a St. Jude mechanical three years ago and it is working fine but of course I must take Coumadin for the duration. I have a friend about my age who Dr. Cosgrove did a "no leak" repair with 58 minute pump time four years ago. My friend is 77 now , skis, golfs, etc....All the best....
