Hi All!

Wayne and I are seeing the electrophysiologist today regarding evaluation for a pacemaker. He was recently dx'd with a severely leaking tricuspid valve (he has two St. Jude's right now). The pacemaker is for two electrical irregularities.....heart pauses, and a-fib.

I know there are so many of you out there who have lists of links about all sorts of subjects. I am a bit concerened as I understand one of the leads goes through the tricuspid valve in a regular installation of a pacemaker, and that they might have to install a lead elsewhere due to the already leaking valve. Also, I want info on the symptoms of a leaking tricuspid if anyone has it.

Thanks a k-billion!

Marybeth

Hi Marybeth-

Here's a link for all the different valve problems and what the symptoms are:

Here's some links for pacemaker implantation:

Didn't see much indicating tricuspid and implantation, only that it's one of the paths. I'm sure the electrophysiologist will come up with a solution though.

Good luck today and let us know how it went.
