Thanks for posting the info Rob!

Particularly was interested in this

"Some tissue valve recipients may require anticoagulants for other risk factors. For example, up to 84% of patients undergoing mitral valve surgery have atrial fibrillation, 5 for which the recommended INR level is the same as that for a mitral mechanical valve".

In my case....unless Exantra comes along. Coumadin will be the only option. I am not in A-fib presently...but was told I could expect it as I age, and or after my next MVR. According to the stats.....could be somewhere between age 55-60.

For now.....just enjoying life ;).

Rob,You do nice work

Rob,You do nice work

Rob, You do good work when you let us know what's going on at these other websites. I am the proud owner of a St.Jude mechanical mitral as you know since September 17, 1998. It can take a licking and keep on ticking-I've had it up over 150 bpm on the treadmill. St Jude Inc. is also the gift that keeps on giving. For sentimental reasons I asked my MerrillLynch broker to buy some St.Jude stock after my operation. He got back to me and said the analysts in New York said it was a bad buy. However I'm sentimental and I told him to buy it any how. We got a batch for 21 and last time I looked it was trading at 79+!

Hi Marty,

Maybe I should buy some St. Judes stock also to celebrate my St Judes Aortic Valve!

Think I have to wait till they split so that the price comes down alittle..

Seems like you made a wise investment. Hope they continue to ride high and keep you smiling!.. that is.. along with the clicking.. takes a licking.... Let's hope all our St Jude valves outlast TImex!

Rob
